About My Blog and Me

Time – Trickles By!

About the Blog

I’m writing this blog for no other reason than to tell how I got here, at this time and place in my life. Now I should mention there is a disclaimer or two to this story. First, I’m not mentioning any ones full name. I refer to them by first name and last initial. I do that as protection from being sued by any one that takes my writing as anything but pure “as I remember it” facts. I believe that there could be alternative truths (your truths) that don’t quite match my recollections (my truths). I also hope that someone out there knows the people I’ve mentioned in that manner and will contact me about it. I would love to touch base with them and exchange “old war stories”.

Secondly, I have not mentioned any girl friends or wives. I won’t pretend they didn’t contribute to my journey to this place and time, because they did, however, this blog is to explain my love for the game that my dad taught me more than seventy years ago and the many stadiums and hot dogs I’ve enjoyed since that first game at Brigg’s Stadium (later named Tiger Stadium). In future writings, I’m going to discuss what I believe has been forgotten about this great game, where we’ve made good changes, and where we have failed to make good decisions lending to the future of America’s National Pastime.

Third, none of the photos in my blog are from anywhere I have been. At this time, everything was copied from a website of millions of royalty-free photos, illustrations, vectors, and other images called https://pixabay.com. It was a blast going through all the options I had on this site to represent my visions of my life. I thank all those artists that contribute to the website whether I’ve used one of their photos or not.

About Me

Not much to tell here. I’m just a guy that grew up in a village of less than 3000 people in the mid-west. Mostly a farming area but close enough to most of the automotive industry giant’s manufacturing plants to employ many of the breadwinners living in the area. I graduated from the village’s only high school in a class of 206 seniors. Worked at a couple of local businesses when I was of age, the bowling alley, the Recreation Center, and a small metals shop until my senior year’s baseball season started. After graduation I worked at a major manufacturer of automotive seat belts for a company later purchase by Firestone, a division of Ford. It was a very good place to grow up. I consider myself lucky and maybe a little spoiled. Then came the Air Force.
